Lhasa: From "water within the city" to "harmonious integration of city and water"

Source:xzxw.com 2025-07-29

As a renowned historical and cultural city on the plateau, Lhasa has naturally formed a layout where "inner waters encircle the Potala Palace and outer lakes embrace the city." However, it previously lacked integrated aquatic spaces where urban life and waterways truly merge. The completed ecological corridor of the inner rivers on the two islands of the Lhasa River has now transformed the vision of "city and water in close harmony, with blue and green integrated" from blueprint into reality.
